This session frames anti-corruption preparedness as a commercial and operational advantage. Drawing on real vessel experiences, we explore how weak preparation drives cost through consequences like delays, demands, and operational disruption, and how simple, low-effort steps before arrival can significantly reduce exposure. We will work together to examine what “good preparation” actually looks like in high-risk ports and why sending a Pre-Arrival Notification (PAN) consistently changes outcomes. The session is practical, experience-based, and focused on cost avoidance through smarter decisions before the port call begins.

How to Prepare for this Session
  • Reflect on recent port calls in highrisk locations and where weak preparation led to delays, demands, or extra cost.
  • Consider how your company currently prepares vessels/Captains before arrival.•
  • Be ready to share example of a preparation step that either worked well—or could have prevented an operational problem.
